ABOUT MICHAEL.
Michael graduated from the renowned Documentary Photography course at Newport in 1986 and has worked in the field of sports photography ever since. A lucky break saw him working at The Observer newspaper as a fresh faced twenty year old, onto the newly launched Independent and The Guardian newspaper.
As the black and white era came to its end, Michael joined Getty Images in 1999 and has covered a variety of sports all over the world from major events such as football, rugby and cricket World Cups, Olympics, Athletics World Championships to the lesser known events such as ice golf in Greenland.
The technology side of the profession has seen many changes, but Michael’s eye for a photograph and enthusiasm for the job makes him believe that the best picture is still waiting to be captured.
